I loved this small town autumnal romance. The book is grounded by its portrayal of Nicki's emotions and her journey to opening up her heart, but this is balanced out by plenty of sweet, lighthearted scenes featuring Nicki's family and her love interest, Carter. The third act breakup felt a little forced, pacing-wise, but the reunion made it worth it for me. I felt completely immersed whilst reading this, and will be looking out for more from Tagan Shepard. Die Handlung beschreibt sehr alltägliche Dinge der Protagonistin, allerdings wirkt das in Kombi mit dem Schreibstil sehr träge. Irgendwann taucht die Love Interest endlich auf und ich hatte Hoffnungen, dass es endlich spannend werden würde. Die Love Interest wirkt tatsächlich sehr sympathisch und ich hätte am liebsten mehr von ihr gehabt. Die Love Interest arbeitet auf einer Farm und bietet an Halloween ein Labyrinth an für Kinder. Was Nickis Nichte aufhorchen lässt, die zudem unbedingt möchte, dass ihre Tante die neue Frau kennenlernt. Na ja und irgendwie passieren permanent tollpatschige Dinge, um irgendwie die Story voran zu bringen, was nicht wirklich gelingt. Irgendwann wollte ich mit meiner Zeit besseres anfangen, als dieses Buch zu lesen Mein Fazit Das Thema Halloween und Sapphic hatte viel versprochen. Der Schreibstil ist sehr zäh und die Handlung kommt irgendwie halb stolpernd und halb zurückfallend ins … na ja, laufen kann man das auch nicht nennen. Super schade, denn ich glaub, die Love Interest könnte in der Story noch einige Sachen voranbringen. So bleibt mir leider nur die Vermutung und eine dunkle Erinnerung an das Buch und dessen Ausgang. Vielleicht finden andere das Buch, Thema und Schreibweise interessanter, denn Potenzial hat es gewiss. Nur für mich an der Stelle nicht. A small town romance giving all the fall vibes. I love seasonal books and this one did not disappoint. The characters in the book were likable and loved the banter. The story flowed well and kept me interested in the book. Would definitely recommend dating an older man in your 20s others. Pumpkin Spice had well-developed characters and a plot that was engaging and cozy. This book was a total delight to read.
